HOUSING

• A strip of old motels have found new life as housing for the bleed-throughs of Truth or Consequences. None are above Super 8 quality.

• The rooms are small, and shared by multiple people in some cases. Privacy is at a low.


• There are no motel staff other than the night watch at the front desk, so laundry has to be taken off-site. Nobody will be turning down your covers and leaving you a mint.


• Some of the motels have swimming pools. None of them have working ice machines.


• You are encouraged to find new housing after arriving in Truth or Consequences, but some people choose to continue renting out a portion of a room indefinitely.


• Speaking of alternate housing: Warren Worthington has officially opened his restored apartment complex. It will have both one and two bedroom apartments available, as well as possible store space at the bottom. This is an alternative for people who are looking for a bigger place to live outside of the motels. It's obviously not free, but it's a decent price and incomer friendly. It's located on S Pershing Street in T or C, and the first units should be available mid-November.

LANDMARKS

• There is not a lot to note about Truth or Consequences. Five years ago, it'd been a spa resort town due to its natural hot springs. Most of the natural population has moved away, leaving the skeleton of a ghost town.


• The Hangman's Cafe: a popular, if dusty, meeting place. Get the hot dip sandwich.


• Rio Grande Hot Springs and Resort. It will be located on Austin St. OPEN and employs imports as well as natives.
  
• The Owl Tree: it's a seedy dive bar, but the spread of the people you'll find is remarkable. There are pool tables and poetry nights every third Sunday of the month.


• The lab: it's where you came in. It belonged to one of the first superhumans to come through from another reality: hulkkeysmash. The lab has been abandoned but everything is still autonomous.
